Airport pick-ups are handed over at the operator's store next to the airport, with a free shuttle from the terminal. Counters open 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:45 daily; pick-ups and returns outside those hours carry their out-of-hours fee. Fuel: the car comes with a full tank and is returned full. Missing fuel is charged at €2.74 a litre plus a €10 refuelling charge. Deposit: held on a credit card in the lead driver's name and released within 20 working days of the return. With Full Protection there is no damage deposit; a €150 fuel deposit applies instead. Maestro and American Express cards are not accepted. The Madeira usage fee (€2 a day, up to 10 days) is in your price and paid at the counter; it is non-refundable. Return the car to the agreed station at the agreed time: a different station costs €30 and late returns are charged by the hour. Traffic fines are passed on with a €10–50 administrative fee.
